| Visit to orphanages in Cambodia |
| | Four volunteers and the Chairman of Lotus Light Charity Society (Hong Kong) made a four-day visit to orphanages in Cambodia. Setting off in the morning of 28 June 2008, the group arrived in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, and headed to the orphanages right away. |

| Gansu Special School |
| | The society has been supporting the “Ping Liang Special School” in Gansu Province since end of 2007, and in March 2008, the school has been officially renamed to “Lotus Light Charity Society (HK) Ltd Direct Subsidy Special School in Ping Liang City”. The school has 130 students, 90 of them are deaf and dumb, 20 blind and 20 mentally retarded. Students at large live in the school, like Jin Ling, some of them came from the poor mountainous region. As the special school demands more sophisticated resources, including teachers, compared with ordinary schools, they need the support from the external world. Having paid numerous visits to the school since end of 2007, volunteers witnessed students quivering from cold and having meat or eggs only once in a month due to limited school funding. As a result, the society donated RMB80,000 to help the school install central heating equipment while providing monthly nutritious meals and enabling students to get regular body-checks.

| Tianxi Primary School |
| | Forty-two representatives of Lotus Light Charity Society (Hong Kong) visited Xuwen County in Guangdong Province on 6 December 2002. On the following day they attended the inauguration ceremony of “Lotus Light Tianxi Primary School”. Gift-packs with school uniforms, school bags and stationery were presented to 650 students as a form of encouragement. |
