Lotus Light variety show for the elderly
On 7 November 2009, the society held a variety show for the elderly at the Yuen Long Theatre, bringing free entertainment, fun and care to 1,000 elders living in the Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai districts.

MTM Custom-blended Eye Mask Charity Sales for the “Rain-saving water cellar program” Water deficient, to many of us, may just be a skin problem, yet to the peasants living in the remote mountainous region of Gansu, it has been a long-term problem in daily living. Over the years, the Lotus Light Charity Society (Hong Kong) continues to raise fund for the “Rain-saving water cellar program”, helping resolve the inherent water shortage problem in Gansu. Fully supporting this good cause, MTM will hold a Charity Sales for the Custom-blended Eye Mask. We invite you to participate this activity to improve the lives of the drought-stricken peasants.

The Lotus Light Charity Society (HK) has been striving to resolve the water shortage problem in Gansu’s mountainous region, and every year it organizes the “Water-on-your-back walkathon” on Mother’s Day to encourage the public to support this good cause while experiencing the hardship of water fetching. With the fifth annual walkathon approaching, Fiona Sit has been invited to design a themed T-shirt, with sponsors including ZTAMPZ x bread n butter x ginger bread. Seven unique designs will be available for sale in all outlets commencing 2 April 2009. You can also support this good cause by filling in and returning the order form.
Charity Visit by Ms International Pageant
With Christmas approaching, the Lotus Light Charity Society (Hong Kong) invited the winners of this year’s Ms International Pageant to make a charity visit on 19 November 2008. Visiting the low income families living in Tin Shui Wai, the pageant beauties also played with kindergarten children, singing Christmas songs, decorating Christmas trees and giving out Christmas presents.
Ticket proceeds of The Learners Chorus’ concert “Magnificat through the Ages” to be donated to the water cellar program
Organized by The Learners Chorus, the “Magnificat through the Ages” concert was successfully concluded at City Hall on 22 September 2008. Ticket proceeds were also donated to help build 90 water cellars in Gansu’s drought striken mountainous region.
Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
The Lotus Light Charity Society (Hong Kong) visited Ding On Elderly Care Home and Quality Healthcare Elderly Care Home on 23 August and 13 September 2008 respectively. As in previous events, members of the society were well prepared to bring marvelous performance and gifts to the elderly.
Anita Yuen and Lelia Chow act as our Honorary Advisor and Honorary PR Advisor respectively
As long-term supporters of Lotus Light Charity Society (Hong Kong), Anita Yuen and Lelia Chow have been invited to be the society’s Honorary Advisor and Honorary PR Advisor respectively, as an appreciation to their support of our charity works. To commemorate this ceremonious event, Ms Jackie Lee, Chairman of the society, presented a certificate of appointment to Anita during the “Wish-making Mid-Autumn Festival” evening party held in Mianyang on 10 September 2008. The presentation is a testimonial to Anita’s role as the society’s charity ambassador and her wholehearted support in raising funds for the water cellar project.
Visit to Tsuen Wan Ding On Elderly Home
The health and living conditions of local elderly has always been a concern of the society, which organizes regular visits to elderly homes in various districts. By visiting the elderly in person, providing gifts and performance, the dull life of elderly is added with fun and laughter. Gifts including basic necessities, thermal apparels and nutritious food are also given.
“Love and care in Spring Festival” – sending our best wishes to 3,000 families in Tin Shui Wai
LLCS organized a Lunar New Year gift-away event on 4 February 2007, delivering lucky bags containing food and clothing to 3,000 households comprising low-income families, single-parent families and elderly living alone, hoping to bring them the joy of receiving presents in the new year.
Love Each Other “The Ant Bully” Charity Movie Premiere – Promoting the Message of Love
In this modern society, parents of many low-income families have to work hard to earn a living, leaving very little time to take care of their children. On 22 August 2006, LLCS successfully organized “The Ant Bully” Charity Movie Premiere at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. With the help of various District Social Welfare Offices and local units, 600 low-income family children aged between 6 and 12 were invited to enjoy this educational animation movie.
